HVAC companies

Google Ads for HVAC companies.

HVAC firms sell three trades at once, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, often to businesses as well as homes. Campaigns need to keep those services and those buyers apart, so a facilities manager asking about a maintenance contract is not treated like a homeowner with a broken unit.

How customers search

Contracts, projects, breakdowns and homes.

Maintenance contracts

“HVAC maintenance contract”, “planned preventative maintenance”, “commercial air conditioning servicing”. Facilities managers, landlords and office managers buying recurring work.

Installation projects

“Commercial HVAC installation”, “office air conditioning installation”, “ventilation system installation”. Larger jobs with specifications, site visits and often a tender.

Breakdowns

“HVAC repair”, “office air conditioning not working”, “commercial boiler breakdown”. Urgent and call-led, and often the first contact with a future contract customer.

Homes

Homeowners rarely say “HVAC”. They search for heating, air conditioning, heat pumps or ventilation by name, so domestic work needs its own keywords and pages.

What we set up

Three trades and two kinds of buyer, kept apart.

  1. 01

    Each service on its own

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning in separate campaigns, so each gets the budget its jobs are worth to you, and its own landing page.

  2. 02

    Commercial apart from domestic

Different ads, pages, hours and forms. Commercial forms ask for the company, the type of site and the number of sites; domestic forms stay short.

  3. 03

    Maintenance contracts as a campaign

Recurring work has the longest value and the longest sales cycle, so it is judged on enquiries and quotes rather than on jobs won in the first month.

  4. 04

    Credentials in the ad

F-Gas certification for refrigerant work, Gas Safe registration for gas appliances, and any trade body membership you hold. Commercial buyers check.

Lead quality

What makes a good HVAC enquiry.

  • Business or home, so it reaches the right person and the right price list.
  • The site: office, retail, warehouse, school or house, and how many sites.
  • What is needed: a new installation, a replacement, a maintenance contract or a repair.
  • Someone who can decide, or who can get the work approved.
  • A timescale, and whether there is a tender or a budget already set.
Searches to keep out

Where HVAC budgets leak.

“HVAC” is a popular search with people training for the trade, so the exclusion list matters from day one.

  • Jobs, apprenticeships, courses, salaries and qualifications.
  • Parts, filters, thermostats and spares bought online.
  • Design software, calculators and textbooks.
  • Portable units, fans and car air conditioning.
  • American terms that do not apply in the UK, such as furnaces.
  • Domestic searches, if you only take commercial work, and the other way round.

Local Services Ads: HVAC (heating or air conditioning) is one of Google’s eligible UK categories. Local Services Ads are built around home services, so they suit domestic repair and installation calls better than commercial contracts. How we manage Local Services Ads.

Questions

HVAC questions.

Do UK customers actually search for “HVAC”?

Businesses and facilities managers do. Most homeowners search for heating, air conditioning or ventilation by name instead. We use both, matched to the customers you want: HVAC wording for commercial campaigns, plain trade names for domestic ones.

Should commercial and domestic work share a campaign?

No. The searches, job values, decision makers and opening hours are different, and mixing them means the cheaper domestic clicks quietly take the budget. Separate campaigns let each be judged on its own enquiries.

Can you advertise maintenance contracts?

Yes, and they usually deserve their own campaign and page. Because contracts take longer to win, we judge them on enquiries and quotes, and you tell us which ones turn into signed work.
