Air conditioning

Google Ads for air conditioning installers.

Air conditioning demand in the UK follows the weather. A heatwave can bring a rush of enquiries, then searches fall away. Campaigns need to be ready for the spikes, keep domestic and commercial work apart, and stay clear of people shopping for a portable unit.

How customers search

Hot weeks, planned projects and offices.

During a heatwave

“Air conditioning installation near me”, “air con for bedroom”. Sudden and urgent, often hoping for a fitting within days.

Planned

“Home air conditioning cost”, “ducted air conditioning”, “air to air heat pump”. Researched over weeks, often well before summer.

Commercial

“Office air conditioning”, “server room cooling”, “air conditioning maintenance contract”. Different buyers, job sizes and working hours.

Products

“Portable air conditioner”, “air cooler fan”. Retail shoppers, not installation customers. We exclude them.

What we set up

An account ready for the hot weeks, and busy in the others.

  1. 01

    Domestic apart from commercial

Separate campaigns, ads, pages and hours, because a bedroom unit and an office fit-out have little in common.

  2. 02

    A heatwave plan

Budgets ready to rise when the forecast turns, ads that are honest about your lead times, and a cap so one hot week does not spend a month’s budget.

  3. 03

Work for the rest of the year

Servicing, maintenance contracts and air-to-air heat pumps for heating, so the account does not go silent from October.

  4. 04

    F-Gas in the ad

Installing systems that use fluorinated gas refrigerants requires F-Gas certification. Saying so is a simple sign you are qualified.

Lead quality

What makes a good air conditioning enquiry.

  • An installation, not a product purchase.
  • The size of the job: how many rooms, or the size of the space.
  • Property type, and who owns it. Flats and rented homes may need permission first.
  • Domestic or commercial, so it reaches the right person.
  • A timescale you can meet, which matters most in a heatwave.
Searches to keep out

Where air conditioning budgets leak.

In a heatwave, every search with “air con” in it gets busier. Most of the extra traffic is not looking for an installer.

  • Portable air conditioners, fans and air coolers.
  • Car air conditioning regas and repairs.
  • DIY split systems, parts and refrigerant.
  • Jobs, training and F-Gas courses.
  • Air conditioning for caravans, motorhomes and boats.
  • Commercial searches, if you only fit homes, and the other way round.

Local Services Ads: HVAC (heating or air conditioning) is an eligible category in the UK. It can work well in a heatwave, when people want someone quickly, as long as you can answer the calls. How we manage Local Services Ads.

Questions

Air conditioning questions.

Should we turn the ads off in winter?

Not usually. Commercial work, servicing and air-to-air heat pumps for heating carry on through the year. We lower budgets in quiet months rather than switching off, so you stay visible for the enquiries that do come in.

Can you advertise air-to-air heat pumps?

Yes. Many systems heat as well as cool and are sold as air-to-air heat pumps. Since 28 April 2026, some can qualify for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme in England and Wales, with conditions, through an MCS certified installer. If you install them, they deserve their own campaign, with every grant claim checked against the current rules.

How do you stop a heatwave blowing the budget?

With a daily cap that suits what you can install, ads that say how soon you can fit, and a forms-first approach when the phones are already busy. A heatwave is the time to choose the best jobs, not to take every call.
